The Student National Medical Association
The Student National Medical Association is the nation’s oldest and largest independent, student-run organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. Membership includes more than 8,000 medical students, pre-medical students, residents and physicians.

John Hale Medical Society, San Francisco NMA
The John Hale Medical Society is a professional medical association in San Francisco organized to serve the needs of health care providers who are from, work for and work in communities of color.  The organization was formed in 1965 by African American physician leaders dedicated to the health care needs of their local communities as a local chapter of the National Medical Association.

Sinkler Miller Medical Association, Oakland NMA
The members of Sinkler Miller Medical Association continue to come together to advocate for health care promotion, scholarships for African American students, physician education, mentorship of students and new physicians, public health programs, and recruitment and retention of all African American providers of health care.

Ethnic Health Institute
The Ethnic Health Institute (EHI), a community service of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, is engaged in coordinating health education, research, health provider training, and community outreach and awareness for the entire community, with a special focus on underserved and minority populations.
