Welcome!

Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) is a national pharmacy leadership society comprised of pharmacy students, practitioners, and professors. PLS was founded in 1965 at Auburn University and currently consists of 91 active chapters in pharmacy schools across the United States and Puerto Rico.

The purpose of Phi Lambda Sigma is to promote and support the development of leadership qualities among pharmacy students. The Beta Beta chapter at the University of California, San Francisco strives to encourage pharmacy students to take an active role in the profession of pharmacy and its future. Membership is by invitation only and is rewarded to those who have demonstrated a commitment to leadership and professionalism in the field of pharmacy.

At its most fundamental level, PLS is a honorary society. However, over the last few years, the PLS chapter here at UCSF has focused on expanding its role in the local academic community. Our leadership events are geared toward pharmacy students of every year from P1s to P4s, without regard to membership status. Popular events include the Annual Leadership Bonanza, P4-Faculty CV Matchup, ASSP/OCPD/PLS Resume Workshop for P1s, and Pharmacy Conference Orientation Lunch Session for P1s and P2s.

Feel free to explore our website and learn more about Phi Lambda Sigma. If there are any more questions, feel free to email any of the officers. Our contact information can be found under the “Contact” tab.
