Cinco de Mayo:
Speech was given by Dr. Nelson Artiga. Free food was provided, and music was provided courtesy of Oscar Nevarez.
Hispanic Heritage Month:
Keynote address by Elizabeth (Betita) Martinez on the topic of “Multicultural Alliances in Building the Road to Educational Justice.” A free lunch was provided.
2003
Cinco de Mayo:
Had a successful celebration with free food donated by El Perol Restaurant, Jitters and Shakers, and L’Avenida Restaurant, World Wrapps, and other donations from Rosa Holm of Burlingame, and HBO. Dr. Nelson Artiga spoke at the event.
Hispanic Heritage Month:
UCSF celebrated with a keynote address by Senator Art Torres. Refreshments were donated by Vice Chancellor Bainton. View announcement.
Meetings:
The LACA membership held its monthly meetings and increased visibility of LACA by the sponsored events and recruitment drives at the New Employee Orientation and a fair at Mission Center Building during Diversity Week celebrations.
