Koinonia

Koinonia is a Christian fellowship with the heart and vision to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the UCSF campus. In the fast-paced hustle and bustle of academic and professional life, we can get so caught up that we hardly have any time to pause for even a second or two. Here at Koinonia, you are invited to take a break from your hectic schedules and consider the Bible’s take on life’s most persistent questions, like the meaning of life, who am I, why am I here, and how God fits into all that.

Koinonia (pronounced koy-no-nee-a) is the Greek word for fellowship, and we place God at the center of our community. Together, we seek to deepen in our knowledge of God and love for one another and to honor the truth of his Word. We meet for Bible studies each week at the Parnassus campus, and we also get together for study sessions, fun sports (volleyball, basketball, softball), exciting outings, and scrumptious home-cooked meals!

As professionals in the health and biomedical sciences who pour out so much time and energy, we can feel overwhelmed with anxieties and questions, or just life. We invite you to check us out - feel free to come and be yourself, find a listening ear, and perhaps discover a whole new perspective on God, life, and purpose.

Please note: Our UCSF-hosted website is in transition. For information about Koinonia please contact Angell Shieh at angell.shieh@ucsf.edu or visit our off-campus website at http://www.ucsf-koinonia.org/.
